QUALIFICATIONS:-
A) AGE:
The applicant should have attained the age of 20 years and should not be aged
above 28 years. The upper age limit relaxation is given to certain
categories as follows:-

B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Candidates should possess a degree from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- The candidate must have obtained the degree on or before the date of notification.
- The graduation degree should have been obtained
- after completion of SSLC and Higher Secondary course in the order of 10+2+3 pattern or
- after completion of SSLC and Diploma in the order of 10+3+3 / 10+3+2 pattern or
- from an Open University / Distance Education/ College after completion of SSLC and I.T.I in the order of 10+2+3 pattern.
- Candidates should have studied Tamil as a subject in X / XII / Degree. If not studied, candidates will have to pass the Tamil-Part II Test conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.
4. RESERVATION:-
A. The following communal reservation will be followed in this recruitment as per
the existing rules.

B. Out of the total vacancies 30% will be allotted for women candidates. Women
candidates shall also be entitled to compete for the remaining 70% of vacancies
along with male candidates.
ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 20% POLICE DEPARTMENTAL QUOTA
Police Constables and Head Constables and their equivalent ranks in the Armed Reserve Police and Tamil Nadu Special Police can apply under 20% Departmental Quota if they meet the following eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS Rules,1953.
ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 10% SPORTS QUOTA:-
Candidates applying under 10% Sports Quota should fulfil all the norms prescribed for open candidates. In addition, the candidate is required to produce Form-I, Form-II or Form-III for the approved 14 games/sports for an event held within 5 years preceding the date of notification to be
eligible. (see reference documents)
ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 10% WARDS/DEPENDENT QUOTA
10% of vacancies shall be filled up from the wards/dependents of serving, retired, deceased and medically invalidated police personnel (9%) and awards/dependents of serving the ministerial staff of Police Department (1%).
